The Atlanta Braves look to try and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2021 World Series before heading back to Truist Park.

Well, it happened, the Atlanta Braves are in the World Series and they won game 1!

The offense showed up early and the Atlanta pitching staff gave their best to propel the team to a 6-2 victory in the opening game of the World Series in Houston.

We did lose Charlie Morton to a fractured right fibula that ended his season prematurely.
This is nothing new for the Braves in 2021 as the injury bug has bitten us often

It’s up to everyone on this team to pick up their teammate and move forward as we have three games left to win.

Game 2 looks to be just as exciting as this team showed the world that they belong on this stage.

Let’s jump into some of the specifics for Wednesday night’s matchup.

Braves vs. Astros Odds for Game 2

The Braves are slight favorites in Game 2 as they showed everyone just how good they actually are. WynnBET has Atlanta favored at -1.5/+160 and the Astros are underdogs at  +1.5/-210.

The money line on the game is -114 for the Astros and +106 for the Braves with the spread set at 8.5 (Over -110/Under +110) runs.

Braves Starting Pitcher: Max Fried

Max Fried has recognized his ace potential over the past couple of seasons and this year was no different.

His last outing was against the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLCS and it didn’t go the way Max wanted it to.

Fried allowed five runs on eight hits through 4.2 innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

That’s not what we’ve become accustomed to when Fried is on the mound.

His 2021 postseason numbers have been good though with a 1-1 record and a 3.78 ERA.

The Astros have never faced Max Fried and that could work out in our favor tonight.

I have all the confidence in the world in Max that he will give us an incredible chance to go back to Atlanta up 2-0 in the series.

Braves Starting Lineup

Braves vs. Astros Prediction

My hope for the Braves was that they would take one of the two games played in Houston.

They’ve accomplished that. However, they need to keep their foot on the gas and try for a 2-0 lead before traveling back to Atlanta.

What better place to have a chance to win the World Series than at home?

The Astros starter Jose Urquidy had a pretty good season as he finished with a 3.62 ERA.

However, his last start of the postseason didn’t go very well as he allowed six runs in just 1.2 innings pitched.

As long as Max Fried comes in with his best stuff and the offense continues to perform the way it has, there is no doubt in my mind that the Braves will take Game 2 of this series.

It may be an optimistic pick but I’m going to say that Atlanta takes Game 2 with a final score of 8-5.
