The Atlanta Braves won their first series of 2022 on Thursday evening as they beat the Cubs by a final score of 5-1.

It was a day of celebration for Atlanta Braves fans as the defending World Series champs won their first series of the 2022 season.

However, the most exciting headline of the night was the return of Ronald Acuña Jr. to the Braves lineup.

To say his presence was missed, would be an understatement. The offensive and defensive production he brings to this team is HUGE.

Did I mention the energy he brings? Acuña is not shy about showing his emotions and being excited for his teammates.

That was no different on Thursday evening as Acuña took to right field acknowledging the fans and showing his excitement to be back on the field.

His first at-bat was celebrated by a standing ovation from the fans at Truist Park.

While he didn’t hit a homer during the game, Acuña treated the fans to two stolen bases and a single to advance Swanson to third in the 7th inning.

It seems that having Ronald back in the lineup relaxed everyone else behind him and the Braves offense looked more like what we expected it to.

There were some nice offensive showings on Thursday and it was nice to see.

Austin Riley got the scoring started as he absolutely obliterated a baseball in the first inning.

Dansby Swanson hit his first home run of the season and also made some impressive plays in the field. Would be a great boost if Dansby is able to get his offense back on track.

It was certinaly great to have Ronald Acuna Jr. back in the lineup, but even more importantly, the Atlanta Braves get their first series win of the year. Hopefully this will get them going and they go on a run.
