After dismantling the Athletics on Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves will host the Pittsburgh Pirates in a four-game series this weekend.

The Atlanta Braves are riding a hot stretch, winning 7 straight games to get over .500. It has also helped them climb up the Wild Card and NL East standings.

As Braves fans, we would love to see the team continue their winning ways, however, the Pirates may have something to say about that. This is not the same Pirates team of years past. They are a scrappy team with some young promising talent that is looking to make a name for themselves in the league.

They are not a playoff caliber roster, but they are putting up decent fights against teams. While they have dropped their last two, they are 6-4 over their last 10 bringing their record to 24-30.

They have a few young building blocks such as Ke’Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds that have established themselves as major league talents. They also have top prospects Oneil Cruz, Travis Swaggerty, and Roansy Contreras on the cusp of establishing themselves at this level.

A young scrappy Pirates team will ride into town looking to slow down the red-hot Braves. The Braves led by a core of Ronald Acuña Jr, Austin Riley, Matt Olson, Max Fried, and many more.

The Braves offense has woken up, and it has been exciting to watch.
