Ahh yes, the great Peter Moylan. Could he really reunite with the Braves? Mark Bowman suggests so.

Yesterday on Twitter, Mark Bowman suggested that the Atlanta Braves could be interested in the likes of Peter Moylan as an addition to the bullpen this off season.

Going into the 2018 season, Moylan will be a mere 39 years young after playing 11 season in the big leagues, and as I’m sure you remember, 8 of those 11 years came in a Braves uniform.

During his long tenure as an Atlanta Brave, Moylan has a 2.62 ERA through 317 games with 271.0 innings pitched. He also accumulated a 1.280 WHIP with a 3.9 BB/9 and a 7.1 K/9.

If there’s one thing I like about this idea, it’s that age appears to show no limits to Moylan’s abilities. For 2017, Moylan had a 3.49 ERA, 1.096 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9 and 7.1 K/9 through 79 games with the Kansas City Royals.

The dominant veteran presence of Moylan to the young bullpen would be great for the Atlanta Braves, especially since the veteran Atlanta currently has in Jim Johnson isn’t proving to be all that great.

Hopefully what Coppy said before he resigned about Johnson will hold true: “He will have a great season in 2018.”

The likes of reuniting with another Royals reliever by the name of Mike Minor is also an opportunity for the Braves. It seems like the Royals/Braves reuniting could very well begin, with the exception of Dayton Moore.

If the Baltimore Orioles are interested in doing some reuniting this off season, by all means, they can have Nick Markakis or Jim Johnson back.

Seeing how Alex Anthopoulos handles the Atlanta Braves bullpen situation this off season is going to be very interesting to say the least. He has a track record of getting some great pitchers, and I sure hope he can maintain that track record this off season.
